Arrests Made In Recent Burglary Spree

Officials report that two individuals were taken into custody on Thursday in connection with a recent burglary spree in the City of Lawrenceburg.

Lawrenceburg Police Chief Judy Moore issued a press release reporting the arrests of Andrew L. Calhoun, 28, and Tiffany M. Wells, 25, both of Lawrenceburg.

The pair was arrested in connection with crimes that were reported between July 6 and 18. During the first case officers were dispatched to a Seventh Street home after the burglar alarm was tripped.

Moore reports that during the nighttime hours between July 16 and 18, officers investigated three additional home burglaries and two attempted burglaries in the same neighborhood.

During the course of the investigation, Moore said department detectives were able to gather evidence that linked Calhoun to the crimes. She said that officers went to Traveler’s Motel on Thursday to arrest Calhoun, but that he fled, leading them on a foot pursuit.

Calhoun was apprehended shortly thereafter. He was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center were he was booked on charges of aggravated burglary, theft, vandalism, and resisting arrest. Wells was booked on two counts of possession of stolen property.

Moore indicates that additional charges will be sought against both Calhoun and Wells when evidence in the cases is presented to a Lawrence County Grand Jury.
